Dental anxiety, or dental fear, is estimated to affect approximately 36% of the population. This percentage of people affected, is often caused from past traumatic experiences or indirect learning from siblings, parents, and role models. We encourage parents to remind their children that maintaining excellent dental hygiene is extremely important for one's health.

Should parents be skeptical of fluoride? Fluoride is statistically proven to strengthen tooth enamel and lower the risk of decay. Both fluoride and sealants are seen as preventive care to avoid cavities. Patients should receive fluoride treatments every 6 months to ensure strong healthy teeth and good dental hygiene.

As most pediatric practices would, we encourage our patients to seal all eight molars. Sealants protect against 80% of cavities for 2 years and continue to protect against 50% of cavities for up to 4 years.
